Batman
Another famous fictional superhero logo on my custom made cupcake as a topper. Mae’s order for her son’s friend despedida party. I’ve made the Batman topper with cutout sugar fondant, loving the yellow, black and grey colour tone of this particular theme, it made the red colour letter pop out nicely.
Good luck Cameron.

Weekend
My daughter BFF and her parents will be joining us for dinner this evening. I’m cooking Balinese food with all the condiments (can you spot the Indonesian crackers in the glass jars). My daughter set the table with so much excitement and she requested double chocolate cupcakes for dessert (her current favourite). Music is playing in the background, Hubby is slicing cucumbers for our G&T, its humming and buzzing in our household, I’m loving it.
Enjoy your weekend everyone, cheers!
Happy Wednesday
Superman
My favourite project over the weekend, creating the famous superhero theme cupcakes ❤
It’s my friend Pat’s 2nd cupcakes order for her family member birthday, this time around is for her son Seppi. I did the iconic Superman logo with cut out sugar fondant, several red stars, number 3 and I’m playing with the blue, red and yellow colours combination. By the way, I love this particular Wilton cupcakes stand, it made the whole theme works spectacularly.
Happy 3rd birthday Seppi!
Kaastengel
Kue Keju or Kaastengel cookies are a popular savoury cookie made with Edam cheese, a traditional Dutch cheese. As a cookie it normally shape in the form of stick/log and it’s one of Dutch’s heritage recipe commonly found in Indonesia. The mini bite size with soft texture and creamy cheesy taste is definitely made it more-ish (you just keep on reaching for more!) but never under estimate the size, it’s really time consuming to make them since it needs to be shape by hand one by one. Of course if you don’t want to endure the long process you can do a short cut (make a large log then use a knife to cut it into desirable size) but estethically it’s not THE Kaastengel that we know 🙂 For yummy kaastengel recipe you can surf the web, there are many good one that is easy to follow.
I’ve normally made these cheese cookies in large batch since they last for couple of weeks in airtight containers. It’s a great home made gift for social gathering. By the way I love using pretty glass jar with airtight lid as packaging, normally I will do a few different kind of cookies to accentuate the display also to give options for the person to choose what they like, just as below image (chocolate chips cookies alternated with kaastengel).
For me, I will choose Kaastengel any day ❤
Double Chocolate
I’ve been baking countless vanilla madeleines the last couple of weeks as an alternative to home made banana muffin in my daughter snack box until she told me last night that she missed having cupcakes as a treat, chocolate cupcake to be more specific. So do I actually, for me chocolate cupcake with decadent dark chocolate frosting is an absolute indulgent. That’s it, in my mind I know I’m going to bake our favourite cupcake once I’m done with my errands.
Nothing beat freshly baked double chocolate treat, my happy Little Miss is enjoying it to the last bite ❤
