Olivia

Such a sweet and caring girl, on her birthday she wished to spent it with the children in the Orphanage (that she visited a few times previously)  with some cupcakes. I told her Mum that I will match her cupcakes order for free, she requested 70 pcs of cupcakes and I made 144 pcs.

Yes, correct … thats 12 dozens of cupcakes! Consists of 4 dozens Vanilla cupcakes, 4 dozens Oreo Cupcakes and 4 dozens Chocolate cupcakes. I spent over 18 hours of baking, decorating and packing them, it was pretty intense!

Esti, your cupcakes are absolutely beautiful. I dropped Olivia, Katie, Emily and the cupcakes off at 10am, they were supposed to leave at 2pm, but they are having such a wonderful time they asked to stay longer. They are only leaving at 5pm now. The kids at SOS Children’s Village were soooo excited to see all the cupcakes, they loved them. I took pizza there for them all at lunchtime, so they have had a lovely party. Thank you so so much for making the cupcakes and for generously donating half. You really are a truly special, thoughtful  lady. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. xx

One happy cupcake lady here, Happy 14th Birthday Olivia ❤

Chocolate Drip Cake

It means “Thank You” in Russian.

My very first chocolate drip cake, I’ve made it for my daughter Gymnastics Coach farewell party. Loving the glossy result of the chocolate ganache, very pretty! Will try it on cupcakes one day soon.

Rosie The Pink Turtle

My first project after Summer break, a pull apart cupcakes cake with Rosie Beanie Boo theme for Rose 6th Birthday, loved it! I decided to use a few different piping tips to give the drawing different buttercream textures. My own daughter whom collects TY plush toys animal herself ( that makes her an expert haha), so I asked her feedback when I’m done drawing Rosie the pink turtle on the cupcakes cake, guess what … she gave me 2 thumbs up, hooray!

Happy Birthday Rose ♥️

YES, WE DID IT!

Exactly a month ago my Better Half crossed Ironman Zurich finish line, it’s his 4th full distance Ironman race, such an awesome accomplishment and we’re super proud of him! The hard training days, his perseverance and determination definitely pays off, we could see that he was in good spirit and having fun throughout the race (as usual he stopped and chat us up whenever he saw us cheering from the spectators  side, too funny).  This time around he has 2 of his buddies joining the race and their family were also coming so for once we have friends to cheer with, happy days!

The day prior the Ironman race Little Miss did the Ironkids run and I surprised myself by  joining the Iron Girl fun run ( for the record, I don’t run but my better half said it’s a great start for my first run and hopefully not the last!). One thing that I know for sure, it felt pretty amazing to approach the finish line and seeing my loved ones cheering for me, unforgettable ♥️

Last but not least, Little Miss and I had the best spectators experience at IM Zurich 2017 with the VIP access, our first time watching the swim start from the water thanks to their boat service (normally you can only watch from the swim start which nearly impossible), the shuttle arrangements throughout Race Day was brilliant, so amazing to be part of cheering crowds at the famous Heart Break Hill, really enjoyed the delicious spreads with free flow sparkling wine provided throughout the day and the VIP staffs were very helpful, Anything Is Possible.

Enjoy the photos!

Summer Baking

Little Miss loves Anzac biscuits ever since she learned how to make it as part of her year group school activity during their World War 2 topic (she told me that before being named Anzac biscuits, these biscuits were said to have been called Soldier’s biscuits being Oats as the main ingredient, along with the other ingredients – sugar, flour, coconut, butter, golden syrup and bi-carbonate of soda – were used because they would be able to withstand the long journey via ship that the biscuits had to make to reach the troops).

Knowing her love of anything with chocolate I decided to tweak the original Anzac biscuits recipe by using coconut sugar and adding dark chocolate chips in it.

The result? Can’t keep them long enough in our home, the Anzac biscuits jar is running low so fast that Little Miss requested to bake it every other day.  She even agreed to bake it under my supervision, love it!
