I love Frangipani or Jepun (in Balinese) or Kalachuchi (in Tagalog), these chocolate cupcakes with sugar fondant Kalachuchi for Mags birthday celebration were definitely one of my favourite project this year.

Did you know that Kalachuchi is also associated with love in feng shui?

There you go, I will make more Kalachuchi cupcakes from now on ❤

“Never forget you’re someone special”
Charlie Brown

I LOVE Charlie and the gang! Was super thrilled when Linda asked me to make The Peanuts Movie theme cupcakes for her son birthday party. These are 24 cupcakes (12 vanilla & 12 chocolate) with buttercream frosting and all cupcake toppers were hand made by me using sugar fondant.  My first project in the New Year and loving it.

Happy 7th birthday Canaan ❤

Ultraman Ginga

ultra man in the making

ultra man in the making 2

It’s a Japanese TV series produced by Tsuburaya ProductionUltraman Ginga (ウルトラマンギンガ Urutoraman Ginga ) is an Ultra believed to be one with Dark Lugiel separated prior to the Dark Spark War. After the Dark Spark War, he was trapped in Spark Doll form. The doll and the Ginga spark made their way to Earth and into the hands of Hikaru Raido who uses the two to transform into Ultraman Ginga and battle users of Dark Spark Dolls. When he returned to space, he left his spark in Hikaru’s possession so that he could come to the aid of earth, even if far away in the galaxy (The Japanese word “Ginga” (銀河) means Galaxy in English). These are Mio’s request for her son birthday celebration, Ultraman is made of vanilla cupcake with buttercream frosting and sugar fondant, my biggest challenge creating this character is to mould the face shape to oval on a round cupcake top 🙂 The other cupcakes were chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting, I’m using metallic blue dragees to match the theme.

Happy birthday Keigo!

Merida

merida

Princess Merida is the protagonist of Disney/Pixar’s 2012 film Brave.  She is the first Scottish princess in the Disney Princess list, in the movie she’s the headstrong and free-spirited 16-year old tomboyish, willful daughter of Queen Elinor who rules the Kingdom alongside her husband, King Fergus. I love her bright red hair, very pretty! These are red velvet cupcakes with buttercream frosting and sugar fondant for Avani’s birthday party.

Initial

We’re hosting a BBQ birthday dinner for Hubby’s friends last night and I’ve made their initial on the cupcake with sugar fondant. Got several new sets of fondant cutter and embosser from Michaels that I’ve been wanting to try, LOVE them 🙂

Happy birthday Karlo, Wilfred and Robert!

Meet The Dragon

My friend Amelia told me that her daughter would like to have cupcakes for her birthday party, when I asked what birthday girl wants me to bake she said her daughter wants DRAGON cupcakes (!!!) Well, I’ve seen Planet Cake awesome Rainbow Dragon cupcakes in their book couple years back so I thought I’ll give it  a try.

Got the book out of the shelves, read all the instruction, bake the vanilla cupcakes and off I go assembling the dragon cupcakes from scratch. Nearly 10 hours later I’ve got my mighty but beautiful dragon cupcake staring at me, what an achievement!

Superstar Butterfly

My friend Yannie asked me to bake mini cupcakes for her son’s class substitute teacher to thank her on her last day teaching the class. When I found out that Ewan’s class called Superstar Butterfly I know exactly what I want to decorate the cupcakes with.

Below is the text I received from Yannie after the party :

Esti the kids went crazy for your cupcakes! Miss Anny was so surprised and happy. The Japanese mums commented that they were the best they have tasted in Manila so far – not oily not sugary. Thank you so much!

One happy baker here 🙂
