Kisses

My current baking obsession, Meringue Kisses! They are sweet, crisp and light which made it so irresistible. I’m working on a few different flavours these days (and eating them too!) so watch this space xx

Red Velvet & Sprinkles

Little Miss is on Summer Break (week 2 and counting), today she wants to decorate the birthday cupcakes I made for Tess. She choose the sprinkles and the Wilton piping tip, I’ve guided her to do a swirl frosting once and she was good to go. Very impressed with her steady hand, way to go Nini!

Happy Birthday Tess xoxo

Yes, that’s right, I baked 150 cupcakes (50 Chocolate, 50 Vanilla and 50 Red Velvet) for my daughter year group Moving Up Party in school. It was so much fun to be part of the party but I forgot how troublesome transporting cupcakes were!  Thank goodness for my better half, he was calm and managed to deliver them from our 57th floor apartment  all the way to the British School Manila, gracias mi amor ❤

The Party was a great success! Parents, teachers and kiddos had a blast, there were lots of food, drinks, games and dancing, welcome to the Senior School Class 2024.

The Son of Man

Do you remember the movie “The Thomas Crown Affair“? My better half and I watched it numerous time, one of our favourite part of the movie was when Pierce Brosnan dressed up as The Son of Man, the final heist scene was so clever and the soundtrack (Sinnerman) just über cool!

So when Carol asked me to make pull apart cupcakes cake based on Rene Magritte famous painting for her husband birthday celebration I was smiling from ear to ear, its a YES!

Happy Birthday Jon, wishing you many more years to celebrate.

Project of the day, United Nations flag pull apart cupcakes cake for Quynh farewell lunch. A few hiccups drawing the olive trees branches but loving the end result. Also I’ve made cut out sugar fondant with my favourite font only to realized at the very last minute that I don’t have space to put it on the cupcakes cake. Decided to just add her name instead and notified Leslie (whom ordered the cupcakes cake), she said its all good, YES!

Primary FOBISIA 2017

The Primary Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) Games last weekend were hosted by Jerudong International School (JIS) in Brunei Darussalam. Around 200 student athletes from six schools were taking part in the Games – JIS; British School Manila; Dulwich College, Shanghai; Garden International School, Kuala Lumpur; Harrow International School, Bangkok; and Kellett School, Hong Kong. My better half and I went to Brunei to cheer on our daughter.

On first day in Athletic, Ariel did 800m sprint (PB at 5th place), 4×100 relay (Silver), Discus Throw (Gold) and Shuttle Relay (Silver).

2nd Day is Swimming in the morning, Ariel won Bronze in 200m IM, Silver in 50m Butterfly, Gold in 100m Medley Relay, Gold in 200m Free Relay and Gold in Tyre Relay. After lunch break they played T-Ball, Ariel’s Team won 5 straight matches (Gold), Miguel and I were in awe with their efforts and brilliant team spirits, super proud parents.

3rd Day was Football, Ariel’s Team won 2 games, 2 draw and 1 lost resulting in Bronze medal, absolutely fantastic!

Last but not least, British School Manila won Silver in the overall athletics and swimming, truly amazing achievement since they had a change in opposition and what was a significantly stronger group (compared to last year).

Thank you to all amazing Coaches, wonderful BSM Teachers & splendid Supporters, congratulations Ariel and Team, we are very, very proud of you all.

Enjoy the photos!
