YES, WE DID IT!
Exactly a month ago my Better Half crossed Ironman Zurich finish line, it’s his 4th full distance Ironman race, such an awesome accomplishment and we’re super proud of him! The hard training days, his perseverance and determination definitely pays off, we could see that he was in good spirit and having fun throughout the race (as usual he stopped and chat us up whenever he saw us cheering from the spectators side, too funny). This time around he has 2 of his buddies joining the race and their family were also coming so for once we have friends to cheer with, happy days!
The day prior the Ironman race Little Miss did the Ironkids run and I surprised myself by joining the Iron Girl fun run ( for the record, I don’t run but my better half said it’s a great start for my first run and hopefully not the last!). One thing that I know for sure, it felt pretty amazing to approach the finish line and seeing my loved ones cheering for me, unforgettable ♥️
Last but not least, Little Miss and I had the best spectators experience at IM Zurich 2017 with the VIP access, our first time watching the swim start from the water thanks to their boat service (normally you can only watch from the swim start which nearly impossible), the shuttle arrangements throughout Race Day was brilliant, so amazing to be part of cheering crowds at the famous Heart Break Hill, really enjoyed the delicious spreads with free flow sparkling wine provided throughout the day and the VIP staffs were very helpful, Anything Is Possible.
Enjoy the photos!
We are currently in the middle of Little Miss school Spring break, on her last day of school I took her to Salvatore Cuomo for tea, she ordered Chocolate Soufflé and Milk Gelato to celebrate, lucky girl! The next day we went to Sugar Factory to the Liu’s girls birthday bash, had a blast and an absolute sugar rush from all the treats, haha 🙂
Anyway, the rest of the week were more civilized, to stay energized throughout the hot Manila day we had plenty of fresh fruits (Little Miss made smiley face on her plate, always) and lot’s of water. Swimming training is on going throughout the Spring break for Little Miss so we’ve spent a good couple of hours by the poolside, its scorching hot but it has to be done.
Today after seeing so many Easter treats on my IG timeline I couldn’t resist, I made a Bunny on a chocolate frosted cupcake for tea and asked Little Miss if she wants to bake Easter cookies one of these days (we never miss Easter cookies baking), she said maybe and back to her Rubik cubes, wish me luck!
Went to Singapore, checked.
Celebrated hubby’s birthday dancing with COLDPLAY and around 60,000 people in National Stadium, checked.
Catching up with few good friends and kiddos, checked.
Went shopping (in random order: Phoon Huat, Kikki K, Sephora, Velocity, CratenBarrel, Metro, Times, Takashimaya, Bengawan Solo, Massimo Dutti, Uniqlo) checked.
Had all our food cravings fixed, super checked!
Happy 48th Birthday Miguel ❤
My Mother in Law made the best chocolate cake, just ask my better half and my daughter, they’ll say Abue made the yummiest chocolate cake in the whole wide world. She taught me how to make it many moons ago and I’ve been baking it on special occasions ever since. It never failed to amaze the audience, there’s something about the creamy caramel and rich dark chocolate that made the cake so irresistible. I’m sharing a few hints here, all you need is 3 round of vanilla cake, a generous amount of Dulce de leche filling and dark chocolate ganache for icing. There you go, not a rocket science but trust me, this cake is absolutely to die for!
On that note, we had another lovely evening spent with family and friends over home cooked dinner and endless laughter, priceless ❤
First day of school term break, my daughter is on a mission. She told me over the weekend that my chocolate chips cookies were lacking substantial amount of chocolate chips, it should be triple the amount (haha!). I told her that it was my normal recipe perhaps she doesn’t remember since I haven’t baked it for a while. My smarty pants then challenged me, she said can I please bake it myself?
So there she was on a Monday morning in my baking studio, pouring loads of semi-sweet chocolate chips on her cookie dough and baking away. She was so proud of her creations she brought it to her swimming training for her after training session snacks.
Well, let me put it this way, if I swam as many laps as her in couple hours per day I will want triple amount of chocolate chips on my cookie as well 🙂
It’s been 2 weeks since we’re back from our fun-tastic Feuermann’s Family Reunion in Thailand. I’m going through all our photos from so many different devices (cameras, camera phone, drone, waterproof camera, you name it we’ve used it!) every single one of them were priceless and obviously nowhere near done compiling them. Here’s a few snippets of the trip taken with my iPhone, will try to do a few photo blogs of some great adventures that the 15 of us did in another blog soon.
Last but not least, my New Year resolution is to enjoy everything on the present moment. Also please note that I’m grateful for every single one of you that make the time to read my random musings, wishing you all an amazing 2017.
My parents-in-law are currently visiting us here in Manila, all the way from Vancouver. They’ve got to see my daughter year group Christmas production in school (it’s really amazing, we’re all very impressed!). They watched my daughter attending her gymnastics training and swimming training. We took them for a bike tour with Bamboo bike in Intramuros ( Bambike PH, a must try, you’ll learn a lot about Philippines history in less than 3 hours, highly recommend it). Last but not least we went for a long weekend getaway to Mactan, Cebu. We all had a blast enjoying the Sea, Sand and Sun.
Back in Manila now, I made Alfajores from scratch for today’s tea, YUM!
