YES, WE DID IT!

Exactly a month ago my Better Half crossed Ironman Zurich finish line, it’s his 4th full distance Ironman race, such an awesome accomplishment and we’re super proud of him! The hard training days, his perseverance and determination definitely pays off, we could see that he was in good spirit and having fun throughout the race (as usual he stopped and chat us up whenever he saw us cheering from the spectators  side, too funny).  This time around he has 2 of his buddies joining the race and their family were also coming so for once we have friends to cheer with, happy days!

The day prior the Ironman race Little Miss did the Ironkids run and I surprised myself by  joining the Iron Girl fun run ( for the record, I don’t run but my better half said it’s a great start for my first run and hopefully not the last!). One thing that I know for sure, it felt pretty amazing to approach the finish line and seeing my loved ones cheering for me, unforgettable ♥️

Last but not least, Little Miss and I had the best spectators experience at IM Zurich 2017 with the VIP access, our first time watching the swim start from the water thanks to their boat service (normally you can only watch from the swim start which nearly impossible), the shuttle arrangements throughout Race Day was brilliant, so amazing to be part of cheering crowds at the famous Heart Break Hill, really enjoyed the delicious spreads with free flow sparkling wine provided throughout the day and the VIP staffs were very helpful, Anything Is Possible.

Enjoy the photos!

We’re back!

Had marvellous time chaperoning my daughter and her gymnastics team to compete in FOBISIA Gymnastics 2017 in Bangkok, stressful in the beginning (probably a few parents like yours truly, but for sure not all hehe) but overall we had a blast. On the day that we arrived in Bangkok we’ve got to ushered the whole gymnastics team and their supporters to Harrow International School for Podium Training prior checking in to our hotel. The next day was the first competition day for MAG (Man Age Group) level 1-4 and WAG (Woman Age Group) level 2-4. My daughter is in level 5 and due to compete the day after so we were taking it easy in the hotel and try to stay chill.

Day 2 of competition went by so fast, my daughter was the only girl in level 5 representing her school and she did very well in each apparatus, she won first place on Floor and 3rd place overall, absolutely fantastic achievement, very proud of her.

Now that FOBISIA gymnastics is done and dusted, as promised, she’s allowed to have a few treats before going back to her healthy meal routine. The first thing she had was a large sliced of Hawaiian pizza at Dean & Deluca in Suvarnabhumi International airport, she was enjoying every bite of it!

Got back home in Manila a few days ago and she asked me to bake one of our family favourite baked goodies, Gluten Free Chocolate Brownies. So today I made it for her, my preferred ingredients for this moist brownies were freshly ground almond and organic dark chocolate, the key is to bake it in a very low temperature. Also to  make it extra special I sprinkled a generous amount of Callebaut semi sweet chocolate chips on top, trust me, the whole house smells so divine when the brownies were ready!

Of course Little Miss Gymnast got an ice cream with her brownies, a very well deserved treat.  Ariel, you never cease to amaze us, congratulations mi amor ❤

Time Is Precious

Hello everyone,

It’s been 2 weeks since we’re back from our fun-tastic Feuermann’s Family Reunion in Thailand. I’m going through all our photos from so many different devices (cameras, camera phone, drone, waterproof camera, you name it we’ve used it!) every single one of them were priceless and obviously nowhere near done compiling them. Here’s a few snippets of the trip taken with my iPhone, will try to do a few photo blogs of some great adventures that the 15 of us did in another blog soon.

Last but not least, my New Year resolution is to enjoy everything on the present moment. Also please note that I’m grateful for every single one of you that make the time to read my random musings, wishing you all an amazing 2017.

Mactan

My parents-in-law are currently visiting us here in Manila, all the way from Vancouver. They’ve got to see my daughter year group Christmas production in school (it’s really amazing, we’re all very impressed!). They watched my daughter attending her gymnastics training and swimming training. We took them for a bike tour with Bamboo bike in Intramuros ( Bambike PH, a must try, you’ll learn a lot about Philippines history in less than 3 hours, highly recommend it). Last but not least we went for a long weekend getaway to Mactan, Cebu. We all had a blast enjoying the Sea, Sand and Sun.

Back in Manila now, I made Alfajores from scratch for today’s tea, YUM!

We’re back!

My daughter and her gymnastics team went to Singapore for  Prime Invitational  2016 gymnastics competition, as usual I’m the lucky Mama that got to travel with her. It’s her first international competition in a new level (she trained in less than 2 months to prepare this competition) and being the youngest one in her team to compete in the same level I didn’t have any expectations whatsoever for her. She did very well, didn’t fall on her beam routine, performed her skills beautifully (I’m being bias here) and we both learned a lot from the competition results. On top of that we’ve got to catch up with a few of our close friends whom reside in Singapore not to mention all the yummy food and sweet treats that we just can’t have enough, we love Singapore!

The girls learned Sing-lish very quickly and by the second day of the trip they’re adding the ending “lah” in all their sentences and it’s contagious 😜

As I’m typing this blog I have freshly baked Toblerone brownie cooling off on my kitchen counter, nothing beat chocolate brownie on gloomy Manila day -lah!

Vancouver 2016

Summer in beautiful British Columbia is magical ❤️

We stayed out enjoying the warm weather, beautiful surroundings and delicious food all day ( thanks to Mr Golden Sun it’s daylight till 9 pm!). Loving our family time and being active together, one thing that we missed a lot in Manila.

If you never been to this part of the world please plan your trip soon, highly recommend it.

NYC Summer

Hello from New York,

We are enjoying our summer holiday in the Big Apple, the weather has been amazing, blue skies with a few sprinkles every now and then, spent a lot of time outdoors and loving it!

Last weekend we traveled to Lake Placid in upper state of New York, stayed there for a few days for Ironman Lake Placid event and had fun-tastic time. My daughter joined the Ironkids running series race and my husband did  the Ironman race, they both did very well, so proud of them! Lake Placid is such a stunning place, awesome spot for Ironman race (very well organized and spectators friendly), highly recommend it.

Drove back to the city couple days ago and we’ve got a few more days in NYC to catch up with friends and family. Very grateful for every precious moments, will keep you posted with our next destination, enjoy the photos.

xoxo – Esti

FOBISIA Games ~ Swimming

We’re back!

After spending 5 days supporting my daughter in a swimming competition at British International School Phuket, Thailand I’m finally back to my baking studio. There were 17 International Schools, 5 Countries and 450 Swimmers competing in the 3 days back to back FOBISIA swimming race, it was really tough and very competitive but my daughter and I had a great time thanks to British School Manila Community. We even won the Best Team Spirit Award!

As promised during the competition days in Phuket, now that I’m back in Manila I made confetti cupcakes for my daughter relay team members, they earned it!

Congratulations BSM Lions, we are very proud of you!
