My friend Pat asked me if I’m available to bake cupcakes for her Mother-In-Law birthday celebration, she would like some rose cupcakes with feminine colours, told her that it will be an honour for me to bake for her family. I made chocolate cupcakes with Nutella filling and Caramel cupcakes with dulce de leche filling, piped in buttercream roses in pink, yellow and lilac colours, and voila! the cupcakes are transformed into edible flowers arrangement.

I received below email from Pat in the evening :

Pull apart cupcakes cake consists of Oreo cupcakes and caramel cupcakes, Mariel’s order for her Dad’s birthday celebration. Between her and her sister Marylin this was their 5th order of birthday pull apart cupcakes cake for their family special occasion, one happy cupcake artist here ❤

Mariel requested a golden pig drawing, longevity in Chinese character 寿 (shòu) and her Dad’s name. She also wants red background for the cupcakes cake which symbolizes good fortune and joy. A very special cupcakes cake indeed, loved it!

By the way, the pig is the last animal sign on the Chinese zodiac and this pull apart cupcakes cake marked my last baked goods in 2014, I’m off for a break with our family in British Columbia.

Caramel cupcakes with dulce de leche filling, buttercream frosting and cut out sugar fondant, Angel’s order for Cha’s and Ellen birthday celebration in Adobo Magazine office.

Slight changes on the ingredients, I’m using Bob Redmill organic whole wheat flour and organic eggs for the cupcakes as per her request. I like working on special order, it’s a great learning process for me since different ingredients will give different result. Must say that whole wheat flour is very aromatic, the cupcakes were smell almost nutty when freshly baked, loved it.

These are 50th birthday pull apart cupcakes cake for Riko, consists of Chococolate cupcakes with Nutella filling, Cookies and Cream (oreo) cupcakes, Vanilla cupcakes and Caramel cupcakes with Dulce de Leche filling. The Classic Metrobank credit card and Platinum credit card image were made with freestyle hand drawing and cut out sugar fondant.

Thank you Dewi for the challenge, 2 pull apart cupcakes cake in 1 order, my first time ever.

We’re Back

Hello everyone,

My daughter and I went to Bali to visit my parents and my family for couple of weeks, just got back yesterday morning and I must say that we had a blast. We did so many things in 2 weeks time that my Hubby can’t keep up with our itinerary *grin* above all its amazing to see my daughter interact with her cousins and start picking up the language, playing indeed is the fastest way to learn something new.

Now that we’re back in Manila, its catching up time with friends and let the baking begin.
